AUSTN (KXAN) — A new survey asking Austin area commuters about their daily travel habits launched this week. As part of an effort to better understand what makes Central Texas area residents decide how they get to and from work and school.
Questions like, how many days do you travel to work or school in a typical week, and how do you get there? Alone in your car, in a carpool, by bicycle, bus, rail or walking? And what influences that decision? Things like cost, time, convenience, or is it all based on your schedule?
The City of Austin Transportation and Public Works Department said there are more than $20 billion dollars of large-scale transportation infrastructure projects coming to the Central Texas region.
In their weekly newsletter the city said, “the findings from this survey and research will inform the development of a future marketing and outreach campaign and help the city foster a cultural shift toward more sustainable travel behaviors.”
If you take the survey you’ll be entered to win a $100 H-E-B gift card and have the opportunity to participate in a focus group to chat with your neighbors about travel in Central Texas. If chosen to participate in a focus group, you’ll get a $50 H-E-B gift card.
