AUSTIN (KXAN) — Georgetown and Rouse are at opposite ends of the District 8-5A1 standings, but that shouldn’t take away from what’s bound to be a high-octane matchup Friday on KXAN+.
The Eagles (4-1, 2-0) host the Raiders (2-3, 0-2) at 7 p.m. at Birkelbach Field, and it’s a game that’s ripe for a lot of scoring. Rouse rolls up 41 points per game, with Georgetown scoring 40.4 per game, and both find pay dirt in different ways.

The Raiders air it out with quarterback London Morgan. He averages 329.2 passing yards per game and has racked up 19 touchdowns against three interceptions. He’s completed 67% of his passes, and he has plenty of weapons to get the ball to. Aubryn Davis and Alfredo Lopez each have seven receiving touchdowns, and Lopez is the big-play threat with a 19.5 yards per catch average. Davis leads the team with 36 catches totaling 482 yards. Lopez has hauled in 26 passes for a team-leading 506 yards. Peter Mietus has 25 catches for 298 yards and a pair of scores.
The Eagles have one of the best runners in Central Texas in senior Jett Walker, and with a big night, he could eclipse the 5,000-yard rushing mark. He’s not being leaned on as much this season, but he showed everyone what he’s capable of after last year’s incredible year with 2,351 yards and 37 touchdowns. He’s part of a trio of backs this year, leading the team with 398 yards on 52 carries with four touchdowns. Weston Steward also has four scores on the ground to go with 293 yards on 37 carries. Zech Guyton has 48 carries for 308 yards, and the Eagles have rushed for 1,040 yards as a team this season.
A win for the Eagles keeps them undefeated in district play, and if the Raiders pull it off on the road, it’ll be their first district win in three tries.
Roger Wallace and Keith Moreland will be on the call. The broadcast begins at 6:55 p.m. and will appear in the video player above, on the KXAN.com streaming page and KXAN+ smart TV app.
