AUSTIN (KXAN) — Oddsmakers have Arch Manning as the favorite to win the 2025 Heisman Trophy, with the shortest odds among all contenders ahead of Texas’ week one showdown against Ohio State.
2025 Heisman Trophy odds via FanDuel
- Arch Manning, +700
- Cade Klubnik, +900
- Garrett Nussmeier, +900
- Jeremiah Smith, +1100
- LeNorris Sellers, +1800
The odds for the top contenders will certainly change following week one’s busy slate of ranked games. Quarterbacks Cade Klubnik (Clemson) and Garrett Nussmeier (LSU) meet under the lights at Clemson Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Klubnik, an Austin Westlake High School graduate, is entering his final year of eligibility.
Unlike Klubnik and Nussmeier, Manning has limited experience at the collegiate level, but his pedigree speaks for itself. On the other hand, the Manning name puts a target on the Heisman favorite and the No. 1-ranked Longhorns.
“We try to shift the narrative of we’re going for everyone else,” Manning said. “Targets not on our back, we have the red dot on everyone else.”
Manning’s ability to be a dual-threat quarterback increases his odds to bring the prestigious award back to the “40 Acres” for the first time since running back Ricky Williams was voted as the best player in college football in 1998.

Not an easy feat, but popularity goes a long way throughout the course of a 12-game regular season and the playoffs. Manning’s odds to win the award will change throughout the season based on his performance. The journey begins Saturday at 11 a.m. against No. 3 Ohio State.
