AUSTIN (KXAN) — HAAM Day Music Festival celebrates 20 years on Tuesday with more than 250 performances at more than 100 venues around the greater Austin area.
The annual event for Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) is its signature fundraiser.
“We are incredibly excited about this feature for our local music supporters and the Central Texas community at large as we celebrate 20 years of this beloved event,” said HAAM CEO Paul Scott.
There are new things for 2025, including:
- NEW SoCo H-E-B anchor location performances on the main store floor, with Scrappy Judd Newcomb & Troy Campbell, PAACK, Ruthie Craft, Sir Woman, Rey Arteaga, Daniel Fears, Pedal Steel Noah, McKenna Michaels, Mixer Rogers, Courtney Santana, Chief Cleopatra, and Shinyribs
- NEW Stubb’s Indoors showcase featuring DJ Tropicana Joe, Restos, and Soul Supporters
- NEW EastVillage ATX showcase with performances by Violet Lea, Beat Root Revival, Big Wy’s Brass Band, Madam Radar
- NEW venues and City Proclamations on downtown stages in Lockhart and Round Rock with live music and city leaders reading proclamations to support HAAM’s mission and reach into communities in Travis and surrounding counties
- Latinpalooza showcase at Radio / East celebrating the diversity of Latin music and culture with a lineup featuring Cilantro Boombox, Como Las Movies, Carrie Rodriguez, Superfonicos
- Central Machine Works showcase featuring The Watters, The Peterson Brothers, Ruthie Craft, and Dale Watson
- A special performance on the south steps of the Texas State Capitol from Gina Chavez
In 2024, $850,000 was raised for local musicians.
According to a news release, for 20 years, HAAM has kept the Live Music Capital of the World alive and well. With continued support from its many community partners since its founding in 2005, the organization has provided its members $215 million in healthcare services, including access to dental, hearing, vision, wellness, specialty care programs and healthcare navigation services.
