AUSTIN (KXAN) — Frontier Airlines will operate nonstop flights between Austin and New Orleans in February to offer “convenient travel” for Mardi Gras.
Flights will operate three times a week beginning Feb. 13 and ending Feb. 22. The airline is also adding nonstop service from several other cities to New Orleans.
“Mardi Gras is one of the most iconic celebrations in the U.S., and we are excited to provide celebrants from across the country with easy, affordable access to the Big Easy this February,” Josh Flyr, Frontier’s vice president of network and operations design, said.
The AUS-New Orleans route is already served by both Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines.
Frontier has added several new flights from Austin this year. Service to Chicago, Cincinnati, Orlando and Phoenix began in March, while flights to Miami and Philadelphia took off in May. The airline also added a new route to San Diego in June.
