Discover Central Texas's July 4th Celebrations

AUSTIN (KXAN) — No birthday is complete without a celebration, and America’s birthday is no exception.

Texas high school football playoffs: State semifinal matchups, sites, game times

Get your red, white and blue ready to celebrate the Fourth of July at these festivities throughout Central Texas.

Travis County

Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic: Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic and Fireworks returns to Austin with a star-studded lineup featuring Bob Dylan, The Avett Brothers, The Mavericks, Asleep At The Wheel and Tami Neilson. Doors will open at 3:00 p.m. at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater.

H-E-B Austin Symphony July 4 Concert and Fireworks: Enjoy live entertainment from local musicians starting at 5:00 p.m., watch people battle for the crown at a taco eating contest and sit back for a night-ending firework display at 9:30 p.m. General admission is free and open to the public.

The Morning Spin: Kick off your morning with a house music DJ set in collaboration with The Concourse Project and Star Spangled Fest. The community party begins at 10:00 a.m. at Auditorium Shores. General admission starts at $25, according to their website.

15th Annual Corn Dog Eating Contest: Celebrate your freedom to eat as much you want by joining in on the annual corn dog eating contest at Black Sheep Lodge at 2:00 p.m. The $25 entry fee gets you 8 minutes of unlimited corn dogs. All proceeds go to Helping Hand Home for Children, according to their website.

Hill Country Galleria Independence Day Festival: The annual, free Independence Day Festival starts at 4:00 p.m. and is designed for families of all ages, according to their website. Explore over 40 vendors lining the streets of Hill Country Galleria, along with fair rides, water games and complimentary face painting.

Volente Beach July 4th Extravaganza: Celebrate Independence Day with a splash at Volente Beach Resort and Waterpark. Full access to the park, live music, BBQ and fireworks from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. is $20, or opt for late entry at 4:00 p.m. for $10.

Williamson County

Round Rock Express Baseball at Dell Diamond: Catch Round Rock Express play against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys with post-game fireworks. The game starts at 7:15 p.m. and tickets start at $23.

Round Rock July 4th Parade and Frontier Days: Round Rock’s annual free parade begins at 8:30 a.m. with giant inflatables and festive floats on the 1.5 mile route along Mays Street between Mays Crossing and Highway 79, according to their website. The fun continues at noon at Old Settlers Park with a day packed with carnival rides, live music, racing pigs and a pepper eating contest. 

42nd Annual Sertoma Club Family Celebration: Georgetown’s annual free event promises “entertainment all day” with an auto show, live music, arts and crafts, food vendors and a petting zoo. The evening will conclude with a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

Kalahari KABOOM! A Fourth of July Celebration: Featuring face painting, bounce houses, animal encounters and a live DJ, Kalahari KABOOM!’s July 4th event advertises fun for the whole family, according to their website. A fireworks show begins at dusk.

Dalte Watson American Legion 4th of July Picnic: The parade starts at 9 a.m. and runs from 7th and Davis to Murphy Park. Following the parade is an ice cream social at the American Legion Hall, according to the City of Taylor’s website. Live music starts at 4 p.m. at Murphy Park Pavilion featuring Dale Watson with special guests Summer Dean and Not Past 11.

Hays County

Kyle’s Independence Day Fireworks Show: A “family-friendly” celebration starting at 4 p.m. with live music until 9 p.m., followed by a 25-minute fireworks show, according to their website.

Red White & Buda: Join the Buda community for all-day festivities at the Buda Amphitheater and City Park, according to their website. The day starts with the traditional bike parade at 9:00 a.m. followed by sand volleyball, a splash pad, bounce houses, rock climbing and cornhole. Country music artist Aaron Watson will perform live at 7:30 p.m. before a fireworks display.
