KXAN First Warning Weather forecast

KXAN’s First Warning Weather Team have said a large cluster of storms and downpours could move in from roughly west to east Friday night continuing into early Saturday morning, bringing a localized flash flood risk and the potential for a few severe storms with the primary threat being damaging wind gusts.

Friday, Oct. 24

The Trunk-or-Treat event hosted at McKinney Falls State Park was canceled. According to Texas State Parks, the event, which was originally scheduled for Friday evening, will not take place due to rain.

The Battle of the Lakes high school football game between Lake Travis and Westlake will start at 7 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m. Westlake will retire the jersey of NFL Quarterback and Chaps graduate Drew Brees at 6:30 p.m.

You can watch the game on KXAN+.

The time for the Burnet High School football game was changed to 6 p.m. due to the “potential for severe weather,” the school said on social media. Additionally, the senior/parent recognition will begin at 5:20 p.m.

“Weather permitting, all seniors will walk the field at the conclusion of the game when the senior song is revealed,” the school said.

Furthermore, the school said due to an earlier game, the pep rally happening on Friday will now happen at 8:50 a.m.
