LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) — CapMetro is considering a possible expansion to its Leander Pickup Zone to add new residential communities, shopping and medical centers to its coverage scope.
The transit authority is proposing a 0.64-square-mile expansion to the existing zone. If approved, that expansion would offer transit services connecting riders to DaVita Leander Dialysis, Cedar Park Regional Emergency Center, Crystal Falls Crossing Apartments, the Lakeline Apartments and Randall’s.
Community members are asked to share feedback on the proposed extension at a June 12 public hearing, beginning at noon. That hearing will be held in person at CapMetro Headquarters’ Rosa Parks boardroom at 2910 E. Fifth St., as well as virtually.
Those interested in joining virtually can register in advance of the hearing by emailing boardofdirectors@capmetro.org or calling 512-369-6040 and leaving their name and contact information before 9 a.m. June 12.
Should CapMetro approve the expansion, it would go into effect Aug. 19.
CapMetro’s Leander Pickup Zone services are available from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A look at current pickup zone operations and drop-off points is available online.
