AUSTIN (KXAN) — Bowie is in a tough part of its schedule and will face a Class 6A top-10 team for the second consecutive week, hosting No. 8 Westlake on Friday at Burger Stadium.

Bowie (4-3, 1-2) played undefeated Dripping Springs very tough last week in a 28-21 loss, and is led by junior running back Rhys Moreno. He has already rushed for more than 1,000 yards, rumbling for 1,046 on 138 carries with 15 touchdowns.
Westlake (5-1, 2-0) relies on a stout defense that’s allowed 14.1 points per game on average this season. Since losing their season opener to Prosper 29-22, the Chaps have won five consecutive games.
Senior quarterback Rees Wise is a dual threat, throwing for 1,046 yards with seven touchdowns while rushing for 101 yards with five scores this season. Running back Sebastian Henault has scored eight times on the ground.
