Barton Springs Pool temporarily closed following Sunday rainstorm

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The City of Austin temporarily closed Barton Springs Pool Sunday evening after a heavy rainstorm.

The city said the pool closed due to reduced visibility after minor erosure from a rainstorm Sunday resulted in cloudy water conditions and limited lifeguard operations. The city sent out the closure notice shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday.

Rain and thunderstorms moved over the Central Texas region Sunday afternoon, including much of the Austin metro area. According to the First Warning Weather Team, heavy downpours dropped 2.6 inches of rain in the Waller Creek area on the UT Campus.
