AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Monday, the UT Tower will shine burnt orange to celebrate the Texas Men’s Swimming and Diving team’s 2025 NCAA Championship, according to a release from the University of Texas.
The lighting ceremony celebrations will be held at the Littlefield Fountain on 21st Street, where the tower will be lit up in burnt orange with a number one. All attendees should plan to arrive before 8 p.m. The celebration will happen between 8 and 8:30 p.m., and the team will be in attendance, taking group photos.
This ceremonial celebration is a UT tradition teams take part in whenever they win an NCAA championship, the release said.
The UT Men’s Swimming and Diving team took the title home with a total of 490 points, making this the team’s 16th NCAA Championship, the release said. Team Head Coach Bob Bowman, became part of the team in April of 2024, and this is the team’s first championship win under him.
This is the first win for the university in the 2024-2025 academic school year. UT holds 67 National Championship titles and 63 NCAA wins.
“It also marks the 10th-straight full academic year (not including the 2019-20 season that was cut short due to COVID-19) that the Longhorns have claimed an NCAA team title,” the release said.
Fans can join the team Monday night to celebrate this accomplishment, watch the UT Tower shine bright burnt orange, and get the opportunity to see the team during a celebratory photo-op.
