AUSTIN (ABJ) — The city of Austin has added to its string of recent real estate purchases, this time paying $4.35 million to nab the site of a former South Austin motorcycle dealership.
The retail property at 2401 S. I-35 frontage road will be transformed into a center to help at-risk people find opportunities for stable housing, according to city documents. The City Council approved the $4.35 million purchase from a company called Buy Rides Austin on Oct. 9, and the deal closed Oct. 23, a city representative said.
The site was formerly an Indian Motorcycle dealership but was most recently a game lounge, although it’s now vacant. It’s roughly 1.4 acres and has a 12,313-square-foot building on it.
