AUSTIN (KXAN) — In the days leading up to Halloween, many people show their artistic talent by decorating pumpkins for their porches. Then, in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, others show their culinary talents by baking pumpkins pies and other delectable delights.
What happens after that? What do you do with pumpkins after they’ve been used for decoration or for eating?

The latest edition of Take Care of Texas includes an article called “Too Gourd To Waste.” Shannon Casey, marketing and outreach specialist for Take Care of Texas, offers a few ways that pumpkins can be repurposed.

Casey offers a unique idea of turning that pumpkin into a cooler — one that holds drinks.
