AUSTIN (KXAN) — After a year-long investigation into multiple sexual assaults, The Hays County Sheriff’s Office, or HCSO, said in a Monday press release that it arrested a man last month.
Franklin Jovel Tabora-Dias, 24, of Kyle, Texas, is currently charged with two first-degree felony counts of trafficking of a child and one second-degree felony count of sexual assault, according to the release. It also said “additional charges [were] anticipated.”
HCSO said its Criminal Investigations Division learned that he allegedly “misrepresented his age” to “as young as 19” to victims and law enforcement, the release states.
“The investigation found that Tabora-Dias contacted high school-aged girls through social media and met them in neighboring communities, sometimes outside Hays County. He then drove them to his residence in unincorporated Kyle, where he sexually assaulted the girls,” the release states.
According to HCSO, some of the victims only spoke Spanish.
As for his vehicles, HCSO claims he drove a “silver 2009 Honda Accord sedan with blue striping” and a “2010 silver Honda Civic with right front damage.”

The sheriff’s office asks the public to contact it with any information that may be relevant. The public can call 512-393-7814 or submit tips online at Crime Stoppers.
Tabora-Dias is currently held in the Hays County Jail under a $275,000 bond and currently does not have an attorney listed, per Hays County court records.
