AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said it was searching for information on a suspect related to an Oct. 14 crash where a cyclist was injured.
According to police, the crash occurred around 3:35 p.m. near the intersection of West 30th Street and East Drive, which is in central Austin.
Police said the cyclist was hit by an unknown vehicle that immediately left the scene and failed to stop and render aid.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police, and was later released.
“Investigators learned that there were possibly two witnesses who flagged down help following the incident,” APD said. “At this time, investigators have not been able to identify or speak with those witnesses.”
APD asked that anyone with information regarding the crash contact the Highway Investigation Tip Line at 512-974-8111. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477.
“A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest,” APD said.
