AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two vape shops, one in Cedar Park and the other in Pflugerville, were robbed within the past week by a group of people who drove a car into the front of the businesses to gain entry, according to surveillance video sent to KXAN by one of stores’ co-owners.
Lacy Hobble, co-owner of the Drip n Rip vape shops in the Austin metro area, said their Cypress Creek Road location in Cedar Park was hit around 4 a.m. on Oct. 21. The business’ Pflugerville location, on West Pecan Street, was hit just before midnight on Oct. 13.
In the video, two of the burglars can be seen helping the car’s driver line it up with the stores’ facade. The driver then reverses at speed a few times until a gap opens in the wall. The rest of the group rushes in and begins taking items from behind the counter.
Hobble said the robbers took several disposable nicotine vapes from the stores. She added the Cedar Park store’s hours wouldn’t be affected.
“We were informed they are hitting multiple businesses all around the area including liquor stores,” Hobble said “We just wanna warn other shop owners.”
The video below is surveillance footage from the Pflugerville vape shop.
The business reported the burglaries to Pflugerville Police and Cedar Park Police, she said.
