AUSTIN (KXAN) — A group of older adults are proving there’s no age limit when it comes to staying fit mentally, physically and emotionally.
In recreation gyms across Texas, women over 50 are hitting the court to play basketball as part of a nationwide program called the Granny Basketball League.
This week on KXAN’s Simple Health, we explore how simple movements can help people stay mobile and reduce their risk of falling. Reporter Noah McKinney introduces us to the Eastland “Old Rips,” a team of women ages 50 to 76 who have built community, and found joy, through the game.
Central Texas women have their own teams, showing that fitness, friendship and fun can last a lifetime.
