Oregon quarterback Dante Moore leads the pack after going into Happy Valley and beating Penn State 30-24 in overtime. The sophomore from Detroit, Michigan, stayed poised as the Ducks allowed the Nittany Lions to go on a 14-0 run, tying the game at 17-17 late in the fourth quarter.
In overtime, Moore threw two touchdowns, leading the Ducks to a win and making him the betting favorite to win the Heisman. No. 3 Oregon will host No. 7 Indiana in Big 10 play this week. The Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza is in the race for the Heisman Trophy at +1400 odds.

Miami quarterback Carson Beck is having similar success in his first season with the Hurricanes. The No. 2 team in the AP Top 25 is undefeated with wins over three ranked opponents. A large part is due to their 16th-ranked defense, but Beck’s 1,200+ yards and 11 touchdowns have helped elevate the Canes. Miami is on a bye in week seven, but will host Louisville when it returns to action.
More names to keep an eye on are Trinidad Chambliss +1600 (Ole Miss) and Marcel Reed +2000 (Texas A&M). Both quarterbacks lead teams that are ranked top in the AP Top 25.
In their sixth game of the season, the Longhorns could potentially face another Heisman favorite as No. 6 Oklahoma will face unranked Texas in the Red River Rivalry.
The Sooners lost quarterback John Mateer after the 24-17 win against Auburn to an injury to his throwing hand that required surgery to repair. Mateer has +3000 odds to bring home the Heisman Trophy, and his status for Saturday’s matchup is still undetermined.
