GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) — Back in February, the city of Georgetown launched askGTX, a service that operates similarly to 311 services for its residents to ask and report issues in the city.
Georgetown provided KXAN with data showing that residents have submitted 2,391 tickets and 118 different request types since February 2025.
That data also show that the top five request types ordered from most to least are:
- 1. Traffic Signal Issue
- 2. Dead Animal IN Road Removal
- 3. Grass Above 6 Inches
- 4. Parking Violation
- 5. Tree Obstruction
According to Georgetown, the city currently has nine employees on its staff for operating askGTX, with an annual budget of $1.1 million.
The city said 911 should still be used for emergencies and should contact the public safety page on the city’s website to report issues, like noise complaints, parking violations or vandalism.
Utility issues, like electric or water outages, water leaks, bill payments and more should go through the customer care page on the city’s website.
Georgetown’s askGTX service can be accessed through a website, phone call, and by its smartphone app.
