The Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment (AACME) and its partners said in a release it will host events, performances and public programs across the city.

“This month is about more than celebration, it’s about access,” said Angela Means, Inaugural Director of AACME. “This effort will spotlight the heartbeat of our city — the artists, musicians, storytellers, culture bearers, and creative spaces that make Austin a vibrant and inclusive place to live.”

The National Arts & Humanities celebration kicks off Thursday at Austin City Hall, from 12 to 1 p.m. Attendees can expect activities, speakers and an opportunity to connect with Austin’s creative community.

In February, the city of Austin opened a new Office of Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment (ACME) dedicated to the culture and entertainment scene in Austin, according previous report from KXAN.
