AUSTIN (KXAN) — At least one person was confirmed dead and a few others were injured following a crash involving a CapMetro bus near southeast Austin on Wednesday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The Travis County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) said it responded alongside DPS to the collision, which was near Pearce Lane and Ross Road. The crash was between the CapMetro bus and a pickup truck.
According to DPS, the person who died was inside the pickup truck, and the other injuries were from those on the bus.
KXAN reached out to CapMetro and requested a statement. This article will be updated if one is provided.
TCSO advised drivers to find an alternate route due to road and lane closures.
