AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Tuesday, KBVO, KNVA and KXAN announced the creation of a new original lifestyle series, “Lifestyle Austin TX.”
“Lifestyle Austin TX” will take “viewers on a weekly energetic journey through Austin’s dynamic landscape, uncovering powerful stories of the challenges, triumphs, fears, and everyday realities of owning a business,” the release said.
The show will be anchored by Catenya McHenry, former KXAN anchor and reporter. McHenry is an award-winning journalist, storyteller and entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in broadcast journalism, marketing and media relations, according to the release. McHenry won an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2021.
Each episode of “Lifestyle Austin TX” is filmed on location and “immerses viewers in a different region of Austin — from downtown to central, east, west, north, and south — highlighting each neighborhood’s vibrant character.”
“I’m excited to not only offer a fresh way to share Austin-centric human interest stories — connecting viewers with the creators behind their favorite hangouts, but also help locals and tourists discover something new. And I hope the show encourages viewers to explore more of Austin — embracing new experiences, whether it’s trying a new restaurant, shopping at hip spots, or simply having fun,” McHenry said.
The show will debut on Oct. 4 at noon on KBVO, the release said.
Viewers can watch “Lifestyle Austin TX” on KBVO at noon on Saturdays. Re-runs will be available on KNVA at 5:30 p.m. on Sundays. The show can be viewed any time on the KXAN+ app, which is streaming on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Samsung TV.
“We were very interested in ‘Lifestyle Austin TX’ because of its local appeal and unique concept,” KXAN General Manager Eric Lassberg said in the release. “There’s nothing like it that exists right now, and we are thrilled to add ‘Lifestyle Austin TX’ to our portfolio of programming.”
The show is produced by McHenry’s production company, Vision Aries, which is “an Austin-based production firm committed to developing content that elevates stories of bravery and women’s issues for streaming and broadcast platforms.”
“Entrepreneurs are a cornerstone of the global economy, yet the relentless grind, personal sacrifice, doubt, stress, and purpose behind launching and growing a business often go unseen,” McHenry said in the release.
