AUSTIN (KXAN) — A suspected drug dealer was arrested on Wednesday after multiple law enforcement agencies worked together for over a year to locate him.
According to the Milam County Sheriff’s Office, Jamal Williams, 39, was arrested in eastern Williamson County on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
Williams had outstanding arrest warrants that were issued in February of last year after deputies conducted a search warrant and found over 12 pounds of illegal narcotics at a home in Rockdale. Among the narcotics were nine pounds of what the sheriff’s office believed to be methamphetamines. No one was home at the time of the search.
The Milam County Sheriff’s Office said Williams’ warrants were for the first-degree felonies of manufacture/delivery of more than 4,000 grams of methamphetamines and more than 10 grams of fentanyl.
If convicted, Williams could face a maximum life sentence or 99 years, the sheriff’s office said.
Williams was captured through a joint operation with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Milam County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations, Georgetown Police Department K9, and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
He was arrested without incident, and there were no injuries.
