AUSTIN (KXAN) — All lanes are back open on Interstate 35 after a crash that happened at Lakeway Drive in Georgetown left a 24-year-old man dead, according to the Georgetown Police Department.
The Texas Department of Transportation posted on X around 1:48 p.m., saying, “Southbound I-35 at Lakeway Drive, all lanes closed due to police activity.”
Police said it appears a car hit a person who jumped from the Lakeway bridge. Police said they would not be releasing the name of the man who died.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m., TxDOT said all lanes were back open.
KXAN reached out to the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Georgetown Police Department for details on the investigation and will update the story when that information is available.
