AUSTIN (KXAN) — This week, drivers should look out for lane closures on Interstate 35 in south Austin, on both the northbound and southbound sides, during the overnight hours.
The Texas Department of Transportation said the “nightly varying lane closures” will occur between Ben White Boulevard and William Cannon Drive.
This will happen Sunday, Aug. 24, through Friday, Aug. 29, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting, according to the agency.
“Multiple ramps and U-turns also closed,” TxDOT said.
This is related to the I-35 Capital Express South Project. One of the project’s goals is to add two high-occupancy-vehicle managed lanes in each direction along I-35 between Ben White Boulevard and State Highway 45 Southeast, according to the TxDOT website.
