AUSTIN (KXAN) — Video of dash camera footage from the Hays County Sheriff’s Office shows it “safely ended a pursuit on I-35 reckless driver,” the agency said on social media.
The pursuit happened on Aug. 6 after HCSO said the driver “struck multiple vehicles.” To ensure the safety of other drivers on the road, the agency said it “temporarily closed sections of the interstate.”
The dash camera video is nearly seven minutes long, which shows the suspect vehicle swerving between other vehicles on the interstate.
Eventually, the vehicle is seen slowing down before eventually coming to a stop before another HCSO patrol vehicle is seen boxing it in between the left lane and the median.
“This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of yielding to emergency vehicles to help ensure the safety of all road users,” HCSO said.
