BURNET, Texas (KXAN) – Hungry? Your empty stomach is needed to judge barbeque made by skilled high schoolers from all over the state.
The Texas High School BBQ Association is hosting the 2025 State Championship at Burnet High School on Saturday, May 3. More than 100 high school teams from across Texas will compete in these categories:
- Grilled Cheese (10 a.m.)
- Ribeye (11:30 a.m.)
- Chicken (1 p.m.)
- Chili (2:30 p.m.)
- Ribs (4 p.m.)
- Brisket (5 p.m.)
Winning teams will move on to the national competition held in Kansas City, Kansas.
Judges are asked to be high school graduates or older and will need to be on-site 45 minutes before the competition begins.
