Dripping Springs ISD to vote on new attendance boundaries

DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas (KXAN) — Schools could soon change for students in Dripping Springs Independent School District as the school board considers moving forward with new boundary attendance zones.

The district has been gathering feedback over the fall 2024 semester on new elementary and middle school attendance zones.

DSISD’s presentation dated for Monday’s meeting said the district has presented three different map options over the last few months, gathering feedback more heavily starting in October.

The district said these new lines are necessary to address its growing student population. According to plans, the new boundaries would support a sixth elementary school campus and the expansion of Sycamore Springs Middle School.

The attendance zone changes will especially address Dripping Springs Elementary School and Walnut Springs Elementary School; the district’s plan said those campuses are experiencing over-enrollment.

Once approved by trustees, the district will publish final attendance zones in January, which will go into effect in the fall of 2025.
