AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin man was sentenced to serve 14 years in federal prison in connection with the distribution of fentanyl.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 24-year-old Trenton Harris Tindall pleaded guilty in December 2023 to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute more than 40 grams of fentanyl.
The DOJ said Tindall coordinated the purchase of counterfeit oxycodone with a person in Austin who was found dead the day after their correspondence.
“Tindall told the purchaser that he possessed oxycodone for distribution and arranged the transaction,” the DOJ said.
The Travis County Medical Examiner records showed the victim’s cause of death was due to the toxic effects of fentanyl.
“Through three separate operations during an investigation, Tindall distributed a total of approximately 450 fentanyl-laced oxycodone tablets—blue in color with “M30” printed on them—to law enforcement,” the DOJ said.
