SWAT team called to scene in northeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The SWAT team is responding to a scene in northeast Austin Friday morning, according to an X post from the Austin Police Department.

APD said patrol and SWAT officers are working a call with a “barricaded subject” in the 1100 block of Ash Cove. That’s in northeast Austin just north of East Braker Lane and west of Dessau Road.

Police did not give further details but said it is an active scene and they will provide details as they’re available.

APD also asked people to avoid the area if possible.
