Major pipeline planned to cross Central Texas

Central Texas (FOX 44) – A new natural gas pipeline has been proposed to stretch across 27 Texas Counties and to pass through Central Texas. Three Open House meetings in the area are scheduled in June to provide information on this project.

DeLa Express has announced plans to construct the 42-inch-diameter line to stretch about 690 miles – from a point near Red Bluff in Loving County to a point near Moss Bluff in Calcasieu Parish in Louisiana.

The company also plans to construct five lateral pipelines, eight compressor stations which are expected to be set in Midland, Sterling, Runnels, Brown, Coryell, Robertson, Walker, and Liberty Counties and various other facilities to go along with the pipeline and its operation.

The first of the meetings will be on June 11 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the City of Hearne Clubhouse, located at 405 Norwood Lane in Hearne. The next will be on June 12 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Bammie Moore Hall, located at 508 Avenue E in Moody. The last will take place on June 13 at the Texas Station Event Center, located at 305 Old Fort Gates Road in Gatesville.

During these meetings, representatives from DeLa Express and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will be present to answer questions. The meetings will provide information about the project and how it may impact the public and their communities and about the environmental review process. Early involvement by all parties could avoid or reduce impacts on the environment and adjacent communities.

It was noted in the announcement that construction and operation of the project has not yet been approved. Further information on the project may be found here. Once arriving at that page, you can click on the DeLa Express project.
