Austin and Travis County officials are expected to give an update on what’s being done to protect the community from the coronavirus.
There are currently no confirmed cases of the virus in Travis County, though health officials announced Tuesday that they are testing “one or more” patients who have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 and has a travel history to an area affected by the outbreak.
“We have no evidence of community spread,” said Mark Escott, Austin’s interim public health director on Tuesday, adding the risk of contracting COVID-19 is “low.”
