AUSTIN (KXAN) — Meals on Wheels Central Texas received a $25,000 donation from AT&T to celebrate 40 years of service on its corporate delivery route, according to a news release.
Meals on Wheels is a national organization that provides meals for seniors and adults with disabilities. There is a kitchen in Austin that serves the Central Texas area.
Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott on Thursday announced the donation at an event at the Meals on Wheels kitchen.
Abbott has been a longtime volunteer for more than 18 years, according to the release. AT&T has been the longest corporate partner.
Meals on Wheels calls for volunteer help at the kitchen and distribution centers.
